The Magic of Motown – a review

The Spa Pavilion, Felixstowe.

It was a truly magnificent show from beginning to end. There were back to back Motown hits delivered by seven amazing and extremely talented singers, three ladies and four gents, who could all really move too.

The entire show was polished, glamorous and worthy of being performed on a West End stage. Every song was sung professionally and there were slick and original dance moves; my particular favourite being the emulation of ‘floppy clowns’ by the four males to Smokey Robinson’s ‘Tears of a Clown.’ Another memorable ‘Smokey’ moment was the males singing ‘The Tracks of My Tears’ A cappella.

As well as the hits of Smokey Robinson, there were super tributes to Diana Ross, Luther and Lionel Richie, brilliant Stevie Wonder covers and a truly fantastic section featuring The Jackson Five.

The entire evening was upbeat with a wonderful party atmosphere. In short, the best show I have ever seen at The Spa Pavilion to date.
