Old Time Music Hall
Further to the success last year of “The Fashion and Music Show” that raised £4000 for Alzheimer’s.org, Eileen Hicks and Julie Locke would like to announce their “Old Time Music Hall” to be held once again at The Orwell Hotel on Friday 14th October.
When deciding if and what they would do to raise money this year Julie remembered that Eileen had mentioned her great uncle had appeared in the music hall in Brighton with the likes of Max Miller, so there was really nothing more appropriate they could do especially as Eileen has a full Pearly Queen outfit!
They have all the gang from last year along with popular locals; comedian Ron Markwell, Dennis Maisey with his George Formby tribute the wonderful ventriloquist Richard Wymark and our very own Dean Wales as the incomparable Deany LaRue who will be leading us all down to “The Old Bull and Bush”.
Dean actually got to know Danny personally and often saw him entertain at The Brick Lane Music Hall.
Eileen has been busy making costumes for her family who were all models in last year’s show, they will be around selling raffle tickets, flags poised.
Tickets will once again be £10 and available from Webb’s in Orwell Road from September.
They would love those attending (if they so wish) to don a hat or feather boa (or both) to enter into the spirit of “The Good Old Days” and join in with singing all the old songs.
Peter Phillips will be brandishing his gavel as Chairman to keep everyone in order!
They look forward to an evening packed full of nostalgia, fun and laughter.
