Local Sailors for Bart’s Bash World Record
Bart’s Bash; a global sailing race and fundraising event with figures currently standing at 27,282 sailors in 756 sailing clubs across 67 countries, smashing the Guinness World Record for largest sailing race in 24 hours!
The event was in honour of Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson, a great advocate for inspiring the next generation of young sailors, who sadly passed away last year. The race inaugurated on 21st September 2014. The Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club was honoured to be part of such a phenomenal event and thanks to Matt Read (Lead Event Maker) and Peter (local legend and skipper for the day!)
The Felixstowe Magazine was there to witness some of the action of this historic event.
