Felixstowe Air Cadets Surpass Expectations!

8 Cadets from 356 (Felixstowe) Squadron took part in this year’s Wing Field Competition, hosted at East Wretham Camp in Norfolk, and were awarded the Runners Up prize for their hard work and team spirit.

Competing against the 28 other Squadrons from the Norfolk and Suffolk Wingthe team did exceptionally well, being placed in second in 5 of the 10 events. Obtaining 248 of the 290 points on offer they were beaten into second place by friendly rivals and closest friends from 432 Woodbridge Sqn. Congratulations go to Woodbridge for a sterling performance by winning 5 of the 10 events andobtaining a score of 268. 188 Ipswich Squadron, another member of the ‘Peninsular Squadrons’, obtained their best result to date, coming 4th overall. For the top two teams, the result from this yearǯs competition is a role reversal from last year. OC 356 Sqn – Flt Lt Andrew Garrett said ‘All the hard work has been done by the team. It was a very good result and I can be very proud of effort they put in. Well done team. I would also like to offer thanks to the other cadets on the Squadron who helped with the preparation of the team’.
