Brave the UK’s highest free fall abseil for your local hospice Take on an adrenaline-fuelled 262ft freefall abseil off the ArcelorMittal Orbit, the tallest sculpture in the UK, on Friday 23 September to raise funds for St Elizabeth Hospice.
The local charity has 30 spaces available on this date for supporters to go over the edge of this incredible landmark located in the world famous Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, part of the legacy of the 2012 London games. Joanne Rodger, St Elizabeth Hospice’s events and challenges fundraiser, said:
“We are really excited to offer people the opportunity to complete this fantastic challenge, where participants can enjoy incredible views of the landmarks of London whilst completing the highest freefall abseil in the UK.
“The hospice are looking for a range of people to take on this amazing feat, with many people already signed up to the challenge. You don’t have to be an experienced abseiler to take on the challenge as full training will be given on the day.”
Registration for the abseil is £69 per person and the hospice ask that participants try to raise a minimum of £250 sponsorship. Participants must be aged 16 years old or over, with under 18’s requiring parental consent to sign up.
