“We are aiming for the Festival of Fabric to be an inspiration to those coming along as well as a wonderful day of trading for our specialist stall holders.  This day is going to be a first for Felixstowe and we are really looking forward to welcoming all the stitching enthusiasts through the door on the 19th February”, comments Amanda Bowden, co-organiser of the Festival and proprietor of Felixstowe Sewing School.

Gorgeous vintage haberdashery, authentic reproduction patterns, retro knitting patterns and sewing machines will be available to buy. Mr Tim, sewing machine specialist, will be there with a splendid selection of original machines to try as well as an exhibition of gorgeous vintage clothing.  Not only that, but there is a programme of specialist workshops (to be booked in advance) to learn hand smocking, working with felt to produce authentic 1940’s corsages and millinery feather manipulation! It’s sure to be a wonderful day and refreshments will be offered with proper china.
